Let's Talk About Jesus

I've just enjoyed a very pleasant Formal Dinner in Hall; Greek Salad followed by steak and then cheese and biscuits. Yum.

Over the course of the meal however someone basically asked me why, if my faith is so important, do I not talk about it much. Surely, his line went, if it's that great and means that much it's selfish not to share it. Ouch. That got me thinking...

So, if you're a believer get on and talk about it. It is definitely something worth sharing and we shouldn't keep it to ourselves.

If you're not a believer, why not ask someone who is about their faith.

I always find steering the conversation around to Jesus is a good way of getting rid of tele-marketers who phone at the most inconvenient times. Usually within 20 seconds of me talking about Jesus they hang up on me. Result!

I think the first comment sums up the problem with trying to talk to some people about faith - they don't want to know and will "hang up" on the conversation. Its not just people who would be derogatory about it (who you probably wouldn't want a conversation with anyway), it can genuinely embarrass some people who don't believe what you're saying but are too polite to express their opinions and have a discussion about it.
